F690 steel plate for ultra high strength marine engineering

The F690 steel plate used in ultra-high strength marine engineering is used for the manufacturing of self elevating offshore platform legs and cranes in extreme service environments, and is the core and key material in the field of large-scale marine equipment manufacturing. It requires steel plates to have large thickness, ultra-high strength, and excellent low-temperature toughness, as well as good wear resistance, weldability, and cutting performance. Manufacturing is extremely difficult, and long-term dependence on imports seriously limits the high-quality development of high-end marine equipment in China.

Xingcheng Special Steel utilizes its strong technological innovation capabilities and advanced production testing equipment to develop a highly homogeneous and thick continuous casting billet with a maximum thickness of 450 millimeters using a straight arc slab continuous casting machine, and successfully manufactures a 180 millimeter thick ultra-high strength F690 steel plate. This action breaks the conventional manufacturing process of using steel ingots as raw materials, achieving low compression ratio rolling, energy saving and carbon reduction. At the same time, the quality of the steel plate remains solid and reliable, and has passed the certification of the Three Kingdoms Classification Society despite breaking the limit of three times the compression ratio in ship regulations.
