On October 8, 2023, recently, Tianbing Technology released a message stating that, It is a 110 ton thrust liquid oxygen kerosene rocket engine "Tianhuo 12" (TH-12) developed in conjunction with the large liquid carrier rocket Tianlong 3 Successfully completed batch product sampling and testing. The testing product is in the state of Tianlong 3 rocket remote flight product, and the testing is under rated flight conditions. According to the flight profile and entrance conditions, it has undergone process verification and testing for 50 seconds, with a single sampling and testing time of 200 seconds and a cumulative working time of 450 seconds. During the testing process, the engine started quickly, worked smoothly, and shut down normally.
The test results show that the TH-12 engine operates stably over a long range under rated operating conditions, and all performance indicators meet the design requirements; Indicate that the design status and production quality of batch production products are qualified and controlled, meeting the performance requirements of rocket flight; At the same time, the test duration covered three times the flight time, proving that the TH-12 has the ability to deliver the first flight conditions, laying a solid foundation for the remote flight test of the Tianlong 3 rocket.
The successful test drive proves that the TH-12 rocket engine has fully demonstrated and broken through all key technologies used in China, including cold air multiple start technology, self ignition technology, combustion instability suppression technology, stainless steel 3D printing manufacturing technology for large-sized thrust chambers, and 3D printing technology for turbine disk thermal components. This marks the beginning of a new chapter in China's commercial aerospace engine's journey towards a hundred ton level.
